In every single way possible, this video was never meant to exist. However, I am eternal and thus the videos must go on. This is the first video out of unknown under the new channel ownership for the VocaStats YouTube channel. In this video specifically, I decided to combine the likes of the old style (like the first three videos) with the current styles. Surprisingly, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would so I'm hoping you will have the same opinion.
Now... change in channel ownership. What happened with the previous owner? Due to the mixed review (in reality was quite positive, she just only focused on the negative) and this one Twitter/X thread, I guess she just couldn't take it and handle the position of managing this channel anymore and quit entirely. Will she be back? Probably. I think her return will be sometime in the middle of the summer, but again no guarantees. Real talk though, I really don't see why anyone should criticize anything objective/factual on this channel unless it is BLATANTLY wrong, as in you can't justify it at all. In defense of Viva (person who formerly owned Vocastats), Zako was deserving of Akita Neru's most viewed song whether or not you like it. Like, the controversy absolutely has nothing to do with its placement in this video and it listing it doesn't mean that Viva automatically likes the song, but who am I to say anything... I'm not her.
Here's an interaction I had with a commenter who asked about Zako:
"Disregarding the controversy, wouldn’t Zako be considered a cover since the original was with Kaai Yuki, and thus not count as Akita Neru’s most viewed original? Genuine question, no hate."
"Certain songs in the video might as well be treated as the original for that VSynth; Sawable by Hizumi Rei was originally a Kagamine Rin song but is treated as a Ci-chan original, and I am Here by CircusP originally used DEX but is treated as a Mo Qingxian original. I see no issue listing Zako as an Akita Neru original. They are made by the same creator regardless."
So yeah... There should absolutely be zero problems with listing Zako as Akita Neru's most viewed song. I saw comments absolutely dogpiling Viva for including it in her previous video, including one that assumed she was probably a "new-genner," "washed," "stupid," and worst of all a "ped0 apologist." Twitter's just so miserable; you can't placate everything. I genuinely am disappointed.
I know I shouldn't bring it up, but I want everyone to see what she had to deal with:

When given the task to take over the channel, I was already overwhelmed on all of the things I would have to look for and how the spreadsheet works and how this Google Scripts app work and everything else... I was given everything needed to edit the video: clips, spreadsheet information, even the proper editing software. At first I didn't know anything but I gradually got the hang of it and finished in what I assumed to be a pretty short time. So yeah, videos under my ownership shouldn't be affected too much. On behalf of Viva, I apologize for everyone who thought that the VocaStats channel was entirely gone and would be abandoned.
Another thing I found was that there was this one website that listed the VocaStats channel up for sale which I found to be an immediate red flag. Of course, I knew that Viva wouldn't sell her channel like that and I fortunately learned that it's one of those fake scam sites that never really give you the end product. Unless I'm like completely wrong or something then don't be too surprised if you randomly see this channel become like a crypto ad.
Last thing, thank you for the incredible support on the last two videos. They're projected to be one of the most viewed videos on the channel and I really cannot thank all of you for that!
Now it's time for the VOCALOID talk! I really thought Obsolete Meat would enter this list but it ended at position 202. That's really unfortunate. However, it's going to be one of three new songs that will likely enter the Top 200 list for May 2025. Can you guess the other two songs? In addition, HOLY CRAP Young Girl A is inevitable. For the first time, this song gained more views than Mesmerizer. Even with the 1 year anniversary of Mesmerizer at the end, Young Girl A was able to somehow have more views in the end. Can't you believe that?
VocaStats does not make any revenue from its content and gives the proper credit to every producer/artist in this video. Every clip in this video should fall under fair use for education and statistic purposes. If there is a mistake, then I will be sure to address it in the comments.
