Awkward Experience with Matthew Knowles | Being Misunderstood as a Racist | Mair's Narrative

So, this is not a usual vlog I'd normally post, but I think the conversation is worth having. This video is about an encounter my friend Beth and I had with Matthew Knowles (Yes, Beyonce's dad) at the Four Seasons Hotel. I think as a nation we have progressed from always thinking words spoken are racial however, given the political climate and the role social media is playing in giving people a platform to hide behind a screen and preach hate is so rapid that we forget that racism and the tendencies to be racist still exist and that's the purpose of posting this to my feed today. This is not to throw shade at the Knowles family, I simply want to share the experience and have a dialogue with you about your interpretation of what happened.

When we take the time to understand people who are different from us whether its race, religious beliefs etc then we can have empathy and truly start to affect change.
