Cutting 3d printable objects with planar cuts large dowels in Prusa Slicer

Prusa Slicer supports cutting objects into sections using a planar cut. They let you pick the shape, size, and number of alignment holes and pins. I wanted to cut a sword model and provide a way of aligning the sword pieces and reinforcing the glued joint that would be weak with a butt joint.

Here I use the Prusa planar cut and have it generate 22mm deep holes that are 12mm in width. The slicer auto-generates dowels that will fit onto both sides of the cut. I use the hex dowel shape because it helps with alignment and helps prevent rotation between the pieces. Could have used too smaller ones but I think the larger one is stronger.
