Today we visit the moment in time where Bowser devised his most dastardly scheme to date: melt Antarctica with hair dryers to flood the world and destroy us all.

You may have already known this, but Luigi's Mansion was NOT the first game in the Mario series where you play as Luigi to rescue his brother. It was, in fact, the game we're visiting for today's song: Mario is Missing!

Mario is Missing! was released for the NES back in 1993. It received such high praise and rave reviews from critics, it quickly received ports to the SNES and even a PC port via MS-DOS.

This game features one of Bowser's most maniacal iterations, where he sets out to flood Earth using hairdryers to melt Antarctica and cause the apocalypse.

The iconic opening cutscene of the game features Bowser taking Mario surprise, kidnapping him, and locking him in a jail cell. Luckily, Luigi quickly noticed his brother had mysteriously vanished, and sets out on a quest to not only save his brother... but the entire planet.

The original track encapsulates the energy and ferocity of this fate-of-the-world battle to perfection, and I could only hope to emulate it as best as I could.
