#Phonics Toy #Sorting Based on Starting Letters C and D to Promote #EarlyLiteracy

I am working on #letterrecognition and learning #lettersounds with my two year old toddler. To promote early #literacy, I gathered some of his toys that started with the letters “C” and “”D” for him to sort into one of two bins. In the “C” bin, I gathered a crayon and other toys like the carrot, cat, car/cab, and cow. The items included in the “D” bin were a dinosaur, deer, dog, and duck puzzle pieces along with a diamond shaped block. This activity is best facilitated by a parent naming each object, emphasizing the first sound of each word to give the child a clue as to which bin the toy belongs in. Review the two letters and the sounds they make prior to sorting and have fun with your child as they learn!
