Forget complex passwords … oh wait, we already did!
It’s hard to remember complex passwords, and when you finally find one that you can remember, you might be tempted to use it again and again. That’s understandable, but very risky.
Previously, we have recommended that passwords should be seemingly unrelated letters (both upper and lowercase), symbols, and numbers, but these are extremely difficult to recall. To make things easier for users, we can also recommend coming up with a passphrase. Multiple easy words that when written all together create a strong, unguessable password that is still easy to remember.
We still recommend using upper and lowercase characters, and adding a number or a symbol in there won’t hurt either. The key is to use at least four words and combine them into one strong passphrase to keep your accounts safe. You could also use a full sentence but make sure it's not a famous sentence.
