How to make PWM DC Motor Speed Controller circuit using 555 Timer IC

In this 555 timer project, I have shown how to make PWM DC Motor Speed Controller circuit using 555 Timer IC on homemade PCB. With this dc motor controller circuit, you can control the speed of any DC motors like 775 or 555 motors.

You can select the transistor as per the motor current rating. The drain/collector current of the transistor should be greater than the motor max current rating. For IRFZ44N MOSFET max current is 40Amps, for TIP122 current rating will be 5Amps.

Required components for the motor speed controller circuit
1. 555 Timer IC
2. TIP122 NPN transistor Q1 (You can also use MOSFET IRFZ44N)
3. 1N4007 diodes (D1, D2, D3) (3no)
4. 5-mm LED
5. 1k 0.25-watt Resistors (R1, R3, R4) (3no)
6. 10k 0.25-watt Resistors (R5) (1no)
7. 10nF (103) Capacitor C1 (1no)
8. 100nF (104) Capacitor C2 (1no)
9. 100k Potentiometer ( R2) (1no)
10. Connectors
11. Zero PCB or cardboard

Here I have used an acrylic sheet for the PCB, but you can also use cardboard or zero PCB.

You can also use this 555 PWM circuit as an LED dimmer circuit.

After watching the complete video, you can easily make this DIY PWM motor speed controller circuit at home.
