The Real Way to Save Our Forests - Cut Down The Trees

Many people want to save the earth by planting trees. In many cases planting trees can be a good thing. In many cases a very good thing. But in a lot of cases we need to do the opposite. In some places we need to be cutting more trees down to save the forests. The biggest problem with many of the forests in the Western United States is they are overstocked with too many trees. After decades of fire suppression, poor management, or no management, many of these forests have become overcrowded with too many trees growing too close together. This encourages disease, insect attack, and catastrophic wildfire. Thinning the trees can save these forests from the aforementioned threats. Thinning the forests and restoration forestry can also be a source of ecologically friendly wood products.
