St. Louis Fed economist and Research Officer Subhayu Bandyopadhyay unpacks how COVID-19 disrupted the push factors (think: political instability) and pull factors (think: economic opportunities) that drive immigration flows and led the portion of immigrants in the employed workforce to fall both sharply and disproportionally lower than overall U.S. employment.
