Electropneumatic Circuit Design for Single-Acting Cylinder Using AutoSIM 200

To design an electropneumatic circuit in AutoSIM 200 to control a single-acting cylinder using a push button and solenoid valve.

Components Required:
Single-Acting Cylinder
5/2 Solenoid Valve (Spring Return)
Push Button (Normally Open - NO)
Relay (for electrical control)
Power Supply (24V DC for control, Pneumatic Supply for Actuation)
Air Compressor

Working Principle:
When the push button is pressed, it energizes the solenoid valve, allowing compressed air to extend the single-acting cylinder.
The cylinder remains extended as long as the button is pressed.
When the button is released, the spring return mechanism in the valve exhausts air, retracting the cylinder.
Steps to Design in AutoSIM 200:
Pneumatic Circuit Design:

Place a single-acting cylinder.
Add a 5/2 solenoid valve with spring return.
Connect the air supply to the valve.
Link the valve's output to the cylinder's input.
Electrical Control Design:

Insert a push button (NO).
Add a relay to control the solenoid valve.
Connect a power supply (24V DC).
Simulation in AutoSIM 200:

Press the push button → Cylinder extends
Release the push button → Cylinder retracts
