Operation Secret Santa! 🚨 -Lydia

Eight-year old Lydia’s smile is infectious.
She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, earlier this year, but, through all of her treatments Lydia has kept an upbeat attitude. Lydia was spotted by Sgt. Griffiths last week, as she and her family were having lunch at MOD Pizza. Sgt. Griffiths also noticed Lydia’s smile and happy attitude radiating through the restaurant, which is what prompted him to go up to her and listen to her story.
It turns out, Lydia only has two treatments left at UC Davis, before she’s in the clear. The osteosarcoma weakened her left leg, but Lydia refuses to let that bother her. She still knows how to have a good time! She even decked out her walker for Christmas!
Lydia’s story struck Sgt. Griffiths so much, he gifted her and her family with two gift cards as part of Operation Secret Santa. Lydia’s family says the gift cards come at such a crucial time, and they plan to use their portion to take Lydia and her siblings out to have some fun after her last treatment. We wish Lydia the best in her recovery, and hope the Alwan family has a memorable Christmas!
