A tiltrotor is a combination of a fixed-wing aircraft and a helicopter, equipped with rotors that rotate at an Angle of more than 90 degrees. It not only has the vertical takeoff and landing ability of helicopter, but also has the cruise flight ability of propeller aircraft. In the 1950s and 1960s, a number of companies in the United States, Canada and Europe started a rush to develop tilt-rotor aircraft. Initially, many aviation experts had high hopes for the aircraft. However, due to the complex design structure of this aircraft, especially in the development of wing rotary structure and rotary nacelle structure for a long time it is difficult to make a breakthrough, coupled with a series of fatal accidents during the test flight, so many countries gave up the development of the aircraft. The V-22 Osprey, jointly designed and built by Bell and Boeing, is the only tiltrotor aircraft that has entered military service.
