Taiwan: Strong earthquakes shake buildings in Hualien, residents flee for fear of building collapse

A strong earthquake in Taiwan shook many buildings, people rushed to the streets for fear of their houses collapsing. According to Taiwan's meteorological agency, the earthquake briefly shook buildings in Taipei City. Xinhua News Agency cited the China Earthquake Networks Center as saying that a 5.7-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Hualien County, Taiwan on Wednesday. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 23.87 degrees north latitude, 121.94 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 15 kilometers.
