How to Update your IEC Code from DGFT

If you are an exporter then it is important for you to keep your IEC Code Updated from DGFT. IEC Code is very important in Export Import Business, every exporter and Importer must have an IEC Code to do Export Import Business. The Authority responsible for processing and approving an IEC is DGFT – Directorate General of Foreign Trade. All Individuals planning to start their Export Import Business must make an application for IEC code before committing to any Export Import transaction. As per DGFT’s new update all exporters and importers are required to update their IEC every year in the month of April, May and June. If the Exporters fail to update their IEC Code, then it will get Deactivated and once they will update then it will be activated again. So, it is very important to keep your IEC Code updated on yearly basis.
