When your friend calls you out on that one language you're still a beginner at 😂
Something that I had to do for myself (which is also one of the ways that I support my students and clients) is reframing how I think about my progress and abilities in the languages that I'm learning.
An experience like this would make me feel like a failure, especially as a perfectionist... ...and I would feel really discouraged about moving forward or continuing to learn this language at all.
But now I recognize that I either can make some decisions on how to do better and improve, or I decide that this actually isn't what I want to do and I change my mind.
Either option is okay.
Especially if you're learning a language that you don't actually want to speak, but instead want to be able to consume more content in the language.
This is why I emphasize starting with Clarity before anything else!!
So that you know exactly what it is you're trying to achieve and you don't get distracted by all these other experiences we tend to have (like being called out by a friend to perform in the language that you're not confident in).
Put a star ⭐ in the comments if you are ready to learn languages your way (without the unnecessary peer pressure)!!
