To Be Romanced - A short film

"After losing her mother, a woman meets a mysterious man that proposes her to be the escape from her pain."

I wrote this film in 2013 during a dark time in my life, with the intention to dive deep into the world of a person struggling with the thought of ending their life.
A good friend of mine struggled with these thoughts and she helped me understand what it means to be romanced by the thought of ending your life.
Together, we finalized the script and made it into a short film.

After the film was made, my friend passed away.

I felt deeply responsible because I created a piece that I thought contributed to her decision.

For 10 years, I couldn't release this film and I struggled with guilt.
I couldn't release it and create more harm.

I'm choosing to share this film because I now know that she chose me to tell her story. To share with people the reality of what many of us struggle with.

She was not alone. You are not alone. Keep pushing.
