曾經被喻為雪梨最好的房子－伊莉莎白海灣洋房，這座宅邸是為殖民地大臣亞歷山大·麥克利 (Alexander Macleay) 建造的，時間於 1835 至 1839 年間，以總督的名字命名，他是悉尼最重要的政府官員，據說是殖民地最精緻的宅邸。

Once hailed as Sydney’s finest house, Elizabeth Bay House was built between 1835 and 1839 for Colonial Secretary Alexander Macleay, named after the Governor-General, Sydney’s most important government official, and was said to be the most exquisite home in the colony.

Over time, the MacLean family lived here until 1911. The house's oval salon and elegant winding staircase are important features of the house, which is recognized as a model of Australian architecture. The rooms are furnished and decorated in Regency style. This house not only has a lofty position in history, it also tells a familiar story: ambition and passion, and the destruction of wealth.
