A papal conclave to elect the late Pope Francis' successor began on Wednesday, with 133 cardinal electors gathering in the Sistine Chapel to begin the secretive process. The cardinals will indicate if a pope has been elected through smoke that billows out of the chimney. Black smoke will emerge if the first round of voting yields no winner. If a pope is elected, the smoke will be white.
