DESIGN DETAILS
Over the past few years, a great deal of attention has been dedicated from the research community to physical layer security, as a mean to prevent eavesdropping without requiring complex data encryption techniques in upper layers. The problem of secure communications in the presence of an external eavesdropper is a well-known problem in digital communications with an ever-increasing interest to the physical layer secrecy performance over fading channels.
This design is based on security issue which investigated from a physical layer perspective in the context of free-space optical (FSO) communications. More precisely, the performance of secure FSO link with intensity modulation/direct detection (IM/DD) over Malaga (M) atmospheric turbulence channels that accounts for pointing errors is addressed in this letter. The Matab simulation is based on the impact of the M turbulence model on the performance of secure communications. To evaluate the performance three metrics are considered.
1.Average secrecy capacity,
2.Secrecy outage probability and
3.Strictly positive secrecy capacity.
