Not every fighter jet lives up to the hype. In this Singularity YouTube Short, we reveal the Top 3 worst-performing jet fighters, as rated by the countries that actually operate them.
At number 3 is the MiG-29 Fulcrum. Although it once looked deadly, air forces like India quickly found it maintenance-heavy, with short engine life and performance issues in tropical conditions.
At number 2, the HAL Tejas. India's indigenous fighter took decades to develop and still faces serious issues with range, payload, and export viability.
And at number 1 – the JF-17 Thunder, co-developed by China and Pakistan. Though it promises multirole capability, real-world users like Myanmar and Nigeria report constant radar faults, engine overheating, and low combat readiness.
These jets are examples of how big promises don’t always mean battlefield success.
