Earth’s Doomsday Warehouse

The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is approximately 10,764 square feet (1,000 square meters) in size, located about 393 feet (120 meters) inside a sandstone mountain on Spitsbergen Island, Norway.

Key Dimensions and Details:
• Entrance Tunnel: Around 328 feet (100 meters) long.
• Main Storage Chambers: There are three chambers, each capable of storing up to 1.5 million seed samples. Currently, only one chamber is in active use.
• Storage Capacity: Can store over 4.5 million seed varieties (approximately 2.5 billion individual seeds).
• Elevation: Built about 430 feet (130 meters) above sea level to ensure long-term protection from sea-level rise.

The vault itself maintains a constant temperature of about 0°F (−18°C ) to preserve the seeds indefinitely.

It's often referred to as the "Doomsday Vault," acting as the ultimate backup for global biodiversity.

Since it's really a warehouse though I think it should be called the Doomsday Warehouse.
