In 1999, the small mountain community of Questa, New Mexico, was rocked by the mysterious murders of Earl Gonzales and his 9-year-old daughter, Clarissa. Earl, a dedicated community member, worked as a crew supervisor for the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, mentoring teens in construction skills. Clarissa, a bright fifth-grader, was devoted to her father and excelled in school. Their close-knit relationship and the absence of enemies make their case a perplexing one. And today, this New Mexico mystery remains unsolved, marked by strange circumstances and unanswered questions.
Join me on a ride through the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains and Cimarron Canyon State Park. The theft and subsequent recovery of Earl’s vehicle is one of the many complicating factors in this New Mexico cold case. Investigators also found an ominous note and may have an intriguing person of interest.
