[AIIA 2023] Methods for improving generalizability and robustness of medical imaging AI models

Medical images play a fundamental role in screening, diagnosis, and monitoring patient responses to treatment. With rapid advances in AI for computer vision, leveraging this technology has become imperative to enhance patient care, reduce the burden on radiologists, and improve the efficiency of national healthcare systems. However, despite its potential, the adoption of AI models in healthcare has been slow. To address these challenges, the project proposes a feature learning approach to improve the model's performance, especially with previously unseen data (out-of-distribution data), a significant problem due to the evolving healthcare environments.
