Brittany's Story (VA) | Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption

Due to neglect, Kyleigh was placed into foster care at 12 years old. Her biological dad had just passed away, and her stepmother was unable to care for her. On the night she came into the system, she met her foster parent, Brittany.

Morgan, Kyleigh’s  Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiter, helped create a space for Kyleigh to navigate her transition and empower Brittany to step into motherhood.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a national nonprofit public charity dedicated to finding permanent families for the thousands of children waiting in North America’s foster care systems. Created by Wendy’s® founder Dave Thomas, who was adopted, the Foundation implements evidence-based, results-driven national service programs, foster care adoption awareness campaigns and innovative grantmaking.
