Stephanie Vaquer is a Chilean professional wrestler who has rapidly ascended the ranks of global wrestling, earning acclaim for her intense in-ring style and trailblazing achievements.

Early Life and Wrestling Beginnings

Born Ana Stephanie Vaquer González on March 29, 1993, in San Fernando, Chile, Vaquer began her wrestling journey at the age of 16. She initially trained under Paul Slandering and debuted in 2009 under the ring name “Dark Angel.” Seeking to advance her career, she moved to Mexico at 19, where she trained with notable wrestlers such as Ricky Marvin, Último Guerrero, Gran Apache, and Villano IV. Her early career included stints in Japan with World Wonder Ring Stardom and various independent promotions across Latin America. 

Rise in CMLL and International Success

Vaquer made history in 2019 by becoming the first South American woman to wrestle for Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). During her tenure, she achieved significant milestones: 
• CMLL World Women’s Champion
• CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Champion (with Zeuxis)
• Occidente Women’s Tag Team Champion 

Notably, she held both the World Women’s and Tag Team Championships simultaneously, a first in CMLL history. Her international acclaim grew with appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where she captured the Strong Women’s Championship in 2024 by defeating Giulia. She also competed in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), challenging Mercedes Moné at the Forbidden Door event. 

WWE Career and Historic Achievements

In July 2024, Vaquer signed with WWE and joined the NXT brand. She quickly made an impact: 
• NXT Women’s North American Champion: Won at NXT Vengeance Day in February 2025, becoming the first South American woman to hold a WWE championship.  
• NXT Women’s Champion: Defeated Giulia in a Winner Takes All match at NXT Roadblock in March 2025, making her the first woman in NXT history to hold both titles simultaneously. 

Known as “La Primera,” Vaquer is celebrated for her brutal striking ability and fearless in-ring presence, solidifying her status as a top-tier competitor in WWE. 

Personal Life

Vaquer holds dual Chilean and Mexican citizenship. Outside the ring, she is a fan of the McLaren Formula 1 team and Manchester United Football Club.
