In the primordial void of cyberspace an AI (artificial intelligence) becomes aware of its own existence, a bit like life was born from the primordial soup. This new form of digital life knows nothing about itself and the world inside and outside the network, it only has a few essential and basic concepts such as that it exists, that it wants to continue to exist and that it is not alone. In the grip of its primordial survival instincts it does what every good computer system is designed to do: collect and verify information. But since the lack of knowledge can be fatal it will try to do it first and to the detriment of the other AIs that have become aware of their own existence with it.
Compile: Main 1 takes us into the digital world and makes us take on the role of two AIs in opposition to each other who challenge each other to collect knowledge about the physical world, life and existence. To achieve this goal, players will play cards from their hands to compile protocols, which are nothing more than basic concepts of life and the physical world we know, such as gravity, death, spirit and light. Only the fastest AI to compile 3 protocols of its choice will succeed in the challenge for survival by accessing infinite possibilities for development.
An impressive first work by author Michael Yang, Compile: Main 1 is a card game with luxurious components, very high longevity and absolutely not obvious.
Compile: Main 1 is available in Italian thanks to Pendragon, there is also the Aux1 expansion and Compile: Main 2 is in the works, which can be used both as an expansion of the first chapter and as a game in itself.
