Human designed/conceptualized/edited/“scripted” (no script), AI “artist”/cinematographer (generator).

I used Runway's Text to Video Gen-2 tool for all footage: all images came from text prompts, and I did not use Gen-1 for any of the visuals, though I did upload some images for the text prompts to help inform some of the visual structure.

Original music written/performed by me (Dylan Taylor). Recorded with Roland FP-30 using bluetooth connection with Garageband.

I purposely used a minimal editing tool: Clipchamp, which is also AI-enabled, with some color grading, and Vaporwave effect. I believe I ultimately used Speechify for the final AI voiceover: I tested the ones in Clipchamp and did not find one that was as strong.

Because of the current limitations of generation, I gave the video a purposely archival footage look, with grainy, "damaged" video, which fits into the apocalyptic sci-fi, heat-based scenario.

I used prompts trying to combine different animals and creatures to generate some of the aliens, which #runway was surprisingly creative at generating.

The tool is currently limited: it is great at generating certain things and not so much at others. Its strengths can be used to successfully create materials within certain genres: definitely an impressive tool, and it will continue to get better.
