How Long Does it Take SEO to Work?

SEO, of course, is making your website show at the top of Google. I always think of SEO sort of like planting a garden. If you plant a garden today, it's going to take about, say, five or six months from the point of planting the garden, to watering the seeds, to, of course, they're in the sunshine, and they're in the rain, and you're weeding the garden, that kind of thing. It takes about five months.

In SEO, it's very similar. You're going to have a process where it's going to take about five months, five or six months, from the point when you start the work to where you really start getting a harvest. If we're playing chess, SEO is like the long game. If I'm playing against you, and you're playing against me in chess, then the long game of chess is going to be, "Hey, I'm going to beat you in the long term. I'm not going to beat you in the short term, not going to beat you in five moves. I'm going to beat you in about 100 moves, or 200 moves." SEO is that same way. It's going to take about 100 or 200 moves. It's going to take three to six months.

Essentially, to answer your question directly, how long does it take SEO to work? My best recommendation is three to six months. The best thing to do is to do SEO for three moths, see how it's going, but really, you're going to see the biggest fruit of your efforts after six months of doing SEO.
