McCain is reimagining French fries through nature-friendly farming #climatesolutions #agriculture

Potatoes are the third most consumed food in the world, but decades of intensive agriculture have degraded the soils they depend on.

‪@McCainFoodsGlobal‬ Farm of the Future project is exploring how to adapt to these new challenges. As the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, McCain’s commitment to implement regenerative agricultural practices across all its potato farms by 2030 will have far-reaching effects.

Some of the regenerative techniques being used include planting cover crops; reducing fertilisers; integrating livestock; and minimising soil disturbance. These have led to an 8% reduction in CO2 emissions, and an increase in yields of 17%.
