Google Launches Veo 2 AI Video Generator for Gemini Advanced and Google One AI Premium Users

Google has officially rolled out its powerful AI video tool, Veo 2, to Gemini Advanced and Google One AI Premium subscribers, enabling them to generate high-resolution, 8-second video clips using text prompts.

The Veo 2 model can now be accessed via the Gemini dropdown menu on both web and mobile platforms, offering users the ability to create 720p MP4 videos with cinematic quality and fluid motion. With advanced understanding of real-world physics and lifelike character movement, Veo 2 supports prompts that yield vivid and detailed scenes. Users can directly share their generated clips on TikTok or YouTube via the “share” button on mobile. Google has also introduced Whisk Animate — a new tool that transforms images into short videos using Veo 2 — to Google One AI Premium members through Google Labs. While monthly video creation is capped, users will receive notifications as they approach their limits. All videos feature SynthID watermarks to confirm their AI origin. Previously priced at $0.50/second via Vertex AI, Veo 2’s wider release is part of Google’s broader push into generative video content.
