There is a large gap in knowledge and understanding of large data streaming, processing, and analytics. Almost every company has a massive amount of disparate data flowing in from numerous sources. Whether it is log files from various servers and clients, invoicing statements from a myriad of vendors, or proprietary data sets from various sources, companies are dealing with a lot of data in multiple formats. AWS has a number of tools and services to help you work with your large disparate data sets. In this presentation we will be exploring how AWS Kinesis Firehose can help you to gather data from all of your data sources. We will use AWS Glue to normalize and pivot the data as it goes into an AWS S3 Datalake. Finally, we will use AWS Athena to query our new data set using SQL and .Net in a way that will feel like second nature to all .Net developers.
All examples and code will be available publicly for you to follow along in the presentation and will have a strong .Net focus. .Net and AWS’ data focused tooling are a great pairing for a quick to develop and powerful analytical presence in the current big data market.
