On September 13, 2021, concerned Chicago Public School students, parents, teachers, and community members took a principled stance to protect CPS kids and demand the city do better to keep them safe. Demands included a remote learning option for unvaccinated kids, rapid testing at all schools, social distancing, and smaller class sizes.
In this short, impromptu speech, Antonio Breed calls out for Mayor Lori Lightfoot to offer a remote learning option, now, and give children what they need to be safe. The city currently sits on $4 billion dollars of federal funding, meant for CPS students.
