Visualization, Data and Tableau

In this talk, we will give an overview of the tableau phenomenon (the tableau eco system) and its ramifications on data visualization. Tableau eco system includes its product suite, user community, developer API/extensions and dashboards. Data visualization has become part of the following: - last stage of big data production-consumption chain - business intelligence - data analysis - executive communication - reporting automation - data journalism - math visual exploration - visual social media - open source data visualization - visual data preparation etc. To a certain degree, this revolution is brought about by tableau. We will present examples of the above topics.
