SEED20 is a competition that spotlights and funds the best and most innovative ideas bringing social change to the region. Social Venture Partners Charlotte, a nonprofit organization whose members are helping grow the region's social entrepreneur community by addressing community needs through venture philanthropy, came up with the competition to encourage social innovation in the community. The competition's culminating event brought the community together to celebrate ideas and positive social change as the 10 finalists pitched their idea for social innovation to the audience.
The 10 finalists that competed in the 2012 SEED20 Unleashed Competition represented the following nonprofits: Charlotte Community ToolBank, Charlotte Teachers Institute, Circle de Luz, Friendship Gardens, Inspire the Fire, Grub to Grub, The Relatives, Second Helping of Charlotte, Silent Images, and Sow Much Good.
