Meta has invested $16 billion in Facebook over the last six years to combat harassment and abuse. This investment aided in the quadrupling of safety and security teams, as well as the development of industry-leading AI that detects and addresses millions of harmful messages.

Axios reports that Meta has eliminated 1.7 billion bogus accounts. However, you shouldn't place your entire trust in what these companies are doing to keep you safe online.

These AI systems search for keywords and aren't always successful in detecting malicious information.

It can also indicate anything as abuse even if it isn't damaging. So, how can you take control of your own safety?

Use a strong password that includes a combination of numbers, symbols, and upper and lower case letters when creating an account.

After you've created your account, go into the privacy settings and manually change the defaults because they're not particularly secure.

Do not connect your company account to your personal account. Hackers will have an easier time targeting your company and its personnel as a result of this.

Be cautious about what you disclose. If you say you're going on vacation, for example, people on the internet will assume your house or company is empty.

Finally, if you have any accounts that you do not use, delete them. It will assist you in not disclosing possibly sensitive information.
