Israeli troops carried out new home demolitions on Monday in the town of Khallet al-Daba in the occupied West Bank, forcibly expelling the Palestinian families living there.
Although settler attacks in the area have increased in recent weeks, Masafer Yatta has long been subject to forced home demolitions and illegal settlement expansions under the control of Israel’s military.
The area south of Hebron gained global attention as the setting of No Other Land, a documentary about Israel’s occupation and settlement of the West Bank that won an Oscar earlier this year. Since then, both the towns and personnel involved in the film have been violently attacked by settlers.
