Gentle vocal warm up for beginner singers and speakers | Semi occluded vocal tract exercises

Hello friend,

As I filmed this video in this peaceful, summer morning I wanted to share you something special to start your day in a gentle way and prepare your voice to any vocal task whether it is singing or speaking.

Our intention for this warm up is to tune into the sensations in the body and warm up the vocal folds and the tiny muscles in the vocal tract. I did this warm up routine with beginner singers and speakers in mind so it's a lovely starting point even if you don't have any experience in doing voice exercises.

Semi occluded vocal tract exercises are an effective and safe way to exercise your voice, but don't forget to make sure you're aware of the sensations in the vocal tract. Any of the exercise is not supposed to hurt, scratch or tickle your throat - don't do anything that feels uncomfortable.

Allow your body and voice to relax through this warm up with patience and kindness and come back to this practice daily with a curious mind.
