For the next release we will feature updated lighting, using a blend of lightmaps and swarm-deferred. This blend mode is also shown in the previous video (the main advantage is better shadows).
Here's an example of the compiled Dota 2 map running in Alien Swarm using this mode. The decompiled dota 2 map is still rather unstable and buggy (especially the creep/navigation and light shafts rendering), but I'm showing it anyway. I think it shows what we can do with this blend lighting mode. Expect an updated less buggy video at a later point.
