Aside from the traps being built into stuff in the foreign nations everything is being manufactured in for no freaking reason. I'm not actually as afraid of this as I am dumb people giving "protectors" too much power. Like for example, giving 3 letter acronym agencies some master key (not a thing, a "master key" is malware, period.)
I just find the "interconnectedness" of computing in everyday infrastructure and all the implications thereof fascinating.
