The Russian FAB-3000 glide-guided bomb weighs 3,000 kilograms and contains 1,400 kilograms of explosives, delivering immense destructive power. Its explosion can cover an area of 6,000 square meters, generating extreme heat and a powerful shockwave. The bomb has a lethal radius of 45 meters, while its shockwave extends up to 1,240 meters. Compared to American-made bombs, the FAB-3000 surpasses other conventional bombs in power and is even referred to as a weapon "comparable to tactical nuclear arms."
Despite its large size and weight, modern Su-34 fighter-bombers can now carry the FAB-3000, and with the addition of glide-guided components, it can achieve long-range precision strikes. Compared to expensive missiles, this bomb is relatively low-cost and highly cost-effective, making it an economical choice for the Russian military.
While the FAB-3000 may enhance Russia's operational effectiveness, whether it will significantly alter the course of the Russia-Ukraine conflict remains to be seen.
