Knowing how to use shortcodes is a necessary skill for WordPress users. While blocks in the new Gutenberg editor are beginning to replace shortcodes, they'll likely stay common for years to come.

These days, all you really need to do to with a shortcode is copy and paste it somewhere in the editor. Gutenburg will automatically insert a shortcode block with your code inserted.

While you won't get a preview of the dynamic content in the editor, don't be fooled by the simple presentation of the shortcode. Viewing the site on the front-end will reveal the full functionality of the shortcode.
