Textbook integration testing is a systematic, incremental, step by step process. There are various strategies based on the build sequence and the integration test approach itself, but it's rarely performed that way. You need to understand why that is and what you can do about it. Now, like component testing, you need to find out what the developers are able and willing to do. There are many identifiable integration risks. Some can be found by inspection and some can be tested during component development. But what are these risks? And how do you minimize the impact of the integration problems?
