Thousands turned out in central Paris shortly after Paris St Germain beat Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday evening (May 8).
The Champs Elysees is the place to be to celebrate big football victories and fans converged on the famous avenue even before the final whistle, setting off fireworks, lighting up flares and chanting "we're in the final".
Part of the Champs Elysees was blocked off and guarded by a heavy police presence due to a parade commemorating 80 years since the end of WWII scheduled to take place on May 8.
PSG' 3-1 aggregate triumph books their ticket to the final in Munich on May 31 where they will have to overcame Italian heavyweights and four-time champions Inter Milan if they are to lift the trophy they crave for the first time.
