Gateway Games 2024: Gas explosion rocks Alake Sports Centre

Panic spread on Tuesday evening following a gas explosion that occurred behind the Alake Sports Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State — the venue currently hosting the handball event of the ongoing sports games.

Eyewitnesses reported a loud blast that shook the area and caused confusion among residents and participants at the sports facility.

The explosion was said to have taken place at a gas refilling point located behind the centre.
