WATCH: Pope Francis mourning mass ahead of conclave

Live from Vatican City: Cardinals arrive through the Sant’Uffizio Gate ahead of a key gathering of the College of Cardinals, following the death of Pope Francis and in the lead-up to the Conclave to elect the next pope.
This event is part of the official Novendiali — nine days of mourning observed by the Catholic Church after the funeral of a pope. A solemn Mass is being held at St. Peter’s Basilica as the Church gathers in prayerful reflection and spiritual preparation.

The Conclave to elect the next pope will begin on May 7, following the same schedule as the 2013 Conclave. That morning, Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals, will celebrate the Votive Mass for the Election of the Pope (Pro Eligendo Papa) at 10:00 AM CEST / 4:00 AM EDT.
