Not every opinion is worth holding onto.
Not every voice deserves space in your mind.
I used to give weight to every comment. Every piece of feedback. Every glance that felt like judgment.
But I’ve learned to be more discerning.
The people who truly know me—the ones who want to see me grow, who cheer me on quietly and loudly—those are the ones I listen to.
The rest?
Their opinions fade.
Their judgments don’t land.
Their words don’t shape who I become.
Because 10 years from now, they won’t even remember me.
But I will still be living with the choices I made based on whose voice I let matter.
So I’ve made peace with being misunderstood.
With not pleasing everyone.
With walking away.
Not everyone gets a seat at your table.
Especially if they’re not bringing respect, honesty, or care.
