C and C++ are the only major production languages in the world without first-class support for Unicode in their standard libraries. It is time to fix that. Standardizing Unicode is a thorny subject, given that the state of the art Unicode implementation today is ICU, which looks nothing like the way the C++ standard library defines interfaces. This talk explores what would happen if we applied the design principles of the std::ranges algorithms and views to a future standard Unicode API.
