Florentijn Hogerwerf and Dirk-Jan Rutten: Lessons learned from implementing a GraphQL API 2019
GraphQL is a query language for APIs that was released by Facebook back in 2015 and has since started to gain traction with both large and small companies using it for their APIs, most recently Github.
As described on graphql.org:“GraphQL provides a complete and understandable description of the data in your API, gives clients the power to ask for exactly what they need and nothing more, makes it easier to evolve APIs over time, and enables powerful developer tools.”
We got introduced to GraphQL over a year ago and were impressed by its promise. Since then we have discovered patterns on how to best structure and implement a GraphQL API. In this talk we will share some of these patterns and provide examples on how to implement them.
