📖 About the talk

How do you prove out a new language, type system, or virtual machine implementation? How do you accelerate maturity while you wait for organic adoption and deployment of your new language at scale? In this talk, we’ll discuss how lifting and shifting nearly 500KLOC of React, Jest, and GraphQL into a new language, VM, and type system rapidly accelerated maturity and also highlighted latent issues in React and TypeScript.

Matt has been programming since 1984, speaking at conferences worldwide since 1998, and been working with React since 2013. He lives in San Francisco with his husband of 23 years, their daughter, and their dog.
