So what actually is Internalised Misogyny?

It is when women and girls are taught to “compete” with each other to be seen as “the best” under the eyes of the patriarchy. Beauty is generally included in this, but it can also involve being “the best” mother, “cool girl”, having “the best” body.

But to be “the best”, you must not only pander to patriarchal stereotypes, but also tear other women down.

Internalised Misogyny is exhausting for all women involved, because as you will see time and time again in the media, even when trying to be “the best”, women simply cannot win.
